CANDLE BURNING TIPS AND CARE

Listed below are some tips to help everyone enjoy their candles safely.

Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" and centered. A long wick will cause your candle to smoke and leave soot.

When burning your candle for the first time, allow your candle to burn until liquid wax covers the entire surface of the candle. This will help your candle to burn more evenly and prevent waste along the sides of the container. Ideal burn time is l hour for each inch in diameter.

Don't burn your candle for more than 3 - 4 hours at a time. Burning it longer can result in uneven melting and over release of fragrance.  Over release of fragrance will reduce the scent your candle will have when burned again.

Do not touch or move a burning candle.

Keep the flame away from the sides of the container. If the wick becomes off center, slowly move it back to the center using your candle snuffer or the side of a butter knife.

Never burn your candle completely to the bottom. Stop approximately l/2" from the bottom or when the wax becomes entirely liquid.

All candles, especially scented ones, will produce a small amount of smoke. This happens mostly when relighting.  Keeping the wick trimmed to l/4" will help reduce smoking.

If black discoloration builds up on the inside of your candle container, clean with a damp paper towel or wet wipe after cooled.

Allow your candle to cool completely before replacing the lid on the container.

Always, place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non flammable surface away from fabric or drapes. Also, choose an area free from drafts and air circulation as they can cause uneven burning and affect its performance.

Always follow the directions on the candle warning label.

Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.

Remember to NEVER leave a burning candle unattended!
